Today we escorted the family to the airport to see them off. It was a very emotional day. Avery took their leaving a bit hard which in turn broke everyone else's heart.
After waving our last goodbye to the family through the glass we made the journey home. It was difficult to make the trip without subconsciously looking behind ourselves to make sure we didn't leave someone on the train or at a bus stop. The house was very quiet and empty. It was almost eerie.
Now...it's time to clean. Our dryer died yesterday morning so Monday I am going to a friend's house to do my laundry. We hope to have a new one by the end of next week....Never a dull moment in Japan for the Brewers...at least not with electronics!

Awwwww...now I'm sad too, but... what a fun time you all had making memories that will never be forgotten. I'm sure Avery's heart was broken to see the family leave but by Monday she'll probably be back in her old routine & you two will still be missing them. Kids are so adaptive. Before you know it you all will be back in TN talking about how much fun Japan was. And Curtis - you & Tessi can start planning your adventure on "The Amazing Race". Get signed up!!! Much Love!
Had to tear up a bit, knowing how it is to send family home and have to stay behind and in my case to go back to a hotel room.Just have to think about all the fun you had being togeather. Love Ya, Granddaddy B.
I woke up this morning at 2AM, partly jetlagged, partly just sad. I knew I would miss the vacation but I didn't realize how much I would miss you guys. I enjoyed myself more than you can know and Austin talks about bits and pieces of it constantly. When he finished his report, I will send it to you. Thank you again so much for your hospitality and for being such awesome tour guides. We love you so very much. Oh, and tell little miss Avery that I am sorry I 'stole' her toothpaste - I will send her some more! LOL
The welcomes are exciting. While the goodbyes are exhausting. But, they are not the final goodbyes, which are depressing forever. Fortunately, Phil, Betty Ann, Teresa & Austin can know the feeling and the experience. Your mom and I just keep missing our kids. Wish you were home NOW! July 18th will be a rough day for sure.
About you dryer, why don't you just send your grandad a round trip 1st class ticket for 2 people and I'm sure he will fix it for you! Ha Ha! Wonder if they sale Kenmore there?
Love ya'll. Stay safe and healthy.
