We almost forgot what "normal" feels like

Well, the vacation is over and after a week back to work, things are back to normal once again at the Brewer house. Deana had to go to a friend’s house to do our laundry on Monday (our dryer died on the previous Thursday and EVERYTHING we owned was dirty). She spent Tuesday cleaning and straightening the house and our new dryer arrived on Wednesday. We were back to normal by Thursday.

I am so grateful that we were able to have some family come to see us. While it was terribly tiring, I loved every minute of it! Deana and I learned that we actually know a little bit more than we thought and our “survival” Japanese will get us by just fine. I was particularly impressed with my wife’s speaking ability. When she and I are out and about, she leans on me and forces me to be the main communicator. Last week, she didn’t have that option and did she ever step up!! She knows a lot more than I thought. Not to mention that she navigated the girls home from Tokyo on a work day during rush hour - good job baby!

Here is one of a few good family shots we got (at the Imperial Palace):

I was going to add some goofy photos showing us all having a good time, but the only "goofy" shots I can find involve me, my dad, chopsticks, and our noses. You all don't really want to see that...

Deana and Avery and I are going out and getting photos of the cherry blossoms this weekend. Look for another post tomorrow with plenty of pics. This is truly the most beautiful time in Japan. Here's a shot of the main street through our town.

Oh yes, I would really like to see one of those goofy pictures - just so I'll know it was really y'all. If it ain't goofy, it ain't you & your Dad. LOL! I've been missing the daily blogs we had while the family was there but I'm happy to see you guys are still blogging & doing well. I'll be looking forward to the cherry blossom pictures tomorrow. The main street shot is beautiful. The dogwoods & azaleas are in full bloom here now & absolutely gorgeous. Guess your Mom & Dad are rested up since they are out on a Miata run to the Smokies today. They are like the energizer bunny. Take care & I'll be right here tomorrow!! Much Love
