Who said that Halloween wasn't a celebrated in Japan??? It is true that many houses don't participate in the tradition of Halloween but the children sure do!!! First, Avery had a Halloween party at school today including a parade which we got to attend. The local newspaper was there taking pictures and asked specifically to take a picture of Avery...we will see if she makes it in the news.

Tonight, we went out trick or treating around Honmoku-Wada (our neighborhood). Many houses didn't participate but the ones that did were packed!!! Kids were waiting in long lines for the treats. Many of the home owners dressed up themselves and joined in on the fun. Here are a few pics from this evening.

I'm happy to know Avery got to enjoy Halloween. She looks so cute in her costume. We will be thinking about ya'll tonight when we go trick-or-treating. How was the weather that night? It's been cold here!
Love Ya'll, Carla
Trick or treat Avery.....Sophie & Daisy want a treat! Looks like y'all had a fun evening. Aunt Tessie did a good job picking out that costume. Avery makes a cute little Minnie. Wow - hope her pic makes the newspaper, that would be so neat. I'm off today. Me & a friend are having a yard sale tomorrow & I'm winding up getting my stuff together. I'm glad y'all are back - I've been missing your almost daily posts.....Love to all!
You guys costumes are great! I almost did not recognize you. Curtis, where did you get that yellow wig? Deana, you must have spent a long time on your make-up! Just kidding, good to see that you are still enjoying yourselves.

The pictures are great! Avery looked ever so mousey in her costume. The tradition lives in Japan "Most ever one doesn't participate"; sounds like the USA! Halloween is tonight and the temp is going to be in the high 60's and low 70's, depending on the time of night. As you know, we will be one of those that doesn't participate (lights off). Look forward to seeing you in December.

The high temp over here is pretty close to the high in TN. Lately, we've been in the upper 60's or low 70's. The biggest difference is that our low temperature is only about 5~8 degrees lower than the high. In TN, I think you all are seeing 30 degree swings or better between the lows and the highs.
hey avery! i love your minnnie mouse costume! I was cinderella and my dress lights up! I miss you a lot and love to look at the pics on your blog! My little brother will be here in about 6 weeks! We can't wait! Love madeline
