So this morning, Avery and I were walking to her school when she spots with her keen eyes the biggest snail I have ever seen in the wild. It was inching its way up the rock wall that is below her school courtyard. When I picked her up today, what was the first thing she looked for....yep...the snail. Of course with the lightening fast pace of a snail it was still there. It was actually taking a nap. Avery asked me to pick it off the wall so she could bring it home and put it in the back yard. Being the compliant mother that I am....well....it is currently in our back yard. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

Ewwwww! And you let her touch it? LOL
We had that happen in Vietnam-only the snail was about 3x that size. I didn't know snails that big existed. Yuck! She seems awfully fond of it, though. Think it will keep her happy until she gets to see Sable again?
That is so gross but cool she has a pet snail. I can't believe you picked it up ;-)
Cool Avery! I like the snail better than your froggie friends. Is it a girl or boy? Have you given it a name yet? How about "slow poke". LOL! Thank you for the ecard for my birthday & for the call this morning, Curtis. You 3 are very dear to me....oops...I mean, you 4 (sorry, forgot the snail). Much Love!
Unfortunately...the pet snail has passed on. Avery dropped it and cracked its shell. Once it went back inside the shell...it never came back out. Oh well...
Did you pick the meat out and cook it?? Escargo baby!!! YUM!!!
Sorry Avery Mae, I am just kidding (wink, wink)
Avery, I am sorry Mr (or Mrs) Snail is no longer with us. I was hoping you could bring it to my house & put it in my pond. I think Goldie & Oscar would have fun playing with it, then when they got hungry, they could have it for dinner. Ask your Daddy how to "sidewalk" a snail. (I assume you do it the same way you do a frog)!!!
