My First Attempt at Cosmotology

Ok....so Avery needed a haircut very badly and I didn't want to have another "nail salon" experience. I decided I was going to cut her hair myself, I mean, how hard could it really be...her hair is straight!

I bought some scissors (cheap ones of course) and started to cut. I got what I paid for in scissors that was for sure. Her hair was starting to look a little "chopped" and I was getting nervous. I immediately went upstairs and got my nice expensive sewing scissors and that seemed to do the trick.

I ended up cutting about 6 inches off and did a pretty good job if I should say so myself. Maybe she won't need another one until we get back home.

Cool, I am impressed. I now ordain you the family hair trimmer! It looks really good to me but would have loved to have seen a face shot too. Somehow I missed the tale of the nail salon experience...you'll have to remember to tell me that one. I loved the call last night, thanks for thinking of me in my "old age retirement" LOL - Love to all

Well you could have just waited till you got back, my daughter gives excellent haircuts, she got Addy the other day, not bad though!
Great job by the way and I would have been scared to go to the salon too after your nail experience. Just make sure you tell her that she can not cut her hair, only mommy or professional can cut her hair, all my trouble started with Alaina after I did a trim job on her hair.

Aunt Pat, I real brief summary of the "mail salon" experience for you and those others who may not know/ remember:
Deana went to get her nails done at a local nail shop that had "manicure" and 1600 Yen (along with some other Japanese) on a sign. Believing that she was going to pay 1600 Yen (about $16), she went in. AFTER they were done, she learned it was $16 PER FINGER. OUCH!! Nails looked good though... Hair salons are fairly notorious for being expensive over here.

Amy, we tried our best to repeatedly tell Avery this was only okay if done by Mommy or a hair salon. Only time will tell if she listened to us. We told her she'll get daddy's hair cut if she tried to cut it herself.

Oops. I meant "Nail salon".

I'm too reliant on spell check...

Looks like Deana did a great job on Avery's Hair! Deana, would you like to try cutting mine when you get home???? Sure could save me some bucks! Hope you are able to "find" those pictures, Curtis. At least you did not drop you camera and breake it on the trip. Yes, I did that in New Orleans! Love you all!
